primaris flame Primaris Prevention (EHR) Project

The overall goal of the Primaris Prevention Project is to improve the efficiency and frequency of preventive health services using electronic health records (EHR). In this way, we hope to optimize Medicare beneficiaries’ quality of life and health care.

Primaris is working with a select group of Missouri primary care practices to improve rates of two cancer screenings (mammography and colorectal cancer [CRC] screening) and two immunizations (influenza and pneumococcal). To do this, participating physicians will use advanced tools available in their EHR.

The participating primary care practices must have already implemented electronic health records (EHRs) certified by a certifying body recognized by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Primaris will assist each participating practice to use its certified EHR to accomplish improved care management processes and improved preventive measure rates. Each participating practice will use its certified EHR to produce and report data on the preventive measures.

Most participants in the Prevention (EHR) Project also participate in the Chronic Kidney Disease Project.
