Joplin nursing home honored for excellent care
NHC HealthCare of Joplin receives Primaris Nursing Home Quality Award
JOPLIN, Mo.—NHC HealthCare of Joplin has been awarded the Primaris Nursing Home Quality Award in honor of excellent care, dedication to constant improvement, and successful projects to improve the lives of their residents.
Primaris, a Columbia, Mo.-based nonprofit, gives the award annually to honor a single Missouri nursing home. This year, NHC HealthCare of Joplin was selected from among seven finalists. The competition was open to nursing homes that provide care to Missourians with Medicare.
“At Primaris, we have seen great stories about Missouri nursing homes advancing health care across the state. The judges selected NHC in particular because of their success in reducing bed sores, their ability to retain staff, and their patient-centered approach to health care,” said Richard A. Royer, Primaris CEO.
“We try to do everything we can to be the number one home,” said Amy Frett, administrator at NHC HealthCare of Joplin. “And we’re always trying to raise that bar higher. We constantly ask, ‘What do we need to do next to improve our center?’”
This dedication to constant learning shows in the nursing home’s commitment to continuously improving care for its residents. Judges cited that spirit of continuous improvement in awarding this year’s Primaris Nursing Home Quality Award.
The Primaris Nursing Home Quality Award was presented on May 2, at the Missouri Health Care Association’s Spring Fling Conference in Lake Ozark, Mo.
NHC HealthCare of Joplin is a 120-bed skilled-nursing facility employing approximately 100 people.
