Primaris welcomes Dr. Bruce Williams to Board of Directors

COLUMBIA, Mo.— Today Primaris announced Dr. Bruce Williams, a doctor of osteopathy of Lake Waukomis, Mo., as the newest member of its board of directors. The nonprofit Primaris serves as Missouri’s Medicare Quality Improvement Organization.

“We’re excited to have Dr. Williams join our board of directors. In this position, he will provide guidance to help shape the future of health care in Missouri,” said Richard A. Royer, CEO of Primaris.

Dr. Williams received his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has practiced for 20 years, currently providing family practice care in Blue Springs, Mo. He is certified with the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review.

Based in Columbia, Mo., Primaris works with health care providers – doctors, nursing homes, home health agencies and hospitals – to refine quality of care. Primaris also performs clinical review of Medicare quality complaints and also operates CLAIM, a free, unbiased Medicare help program for Missourians.

Primaris’ mission is to improve health care delivery and outcomes by promoting excellence, advancing knowledge and developing innovative solutions for physicians, other providers, businesses, government, patients and consumers.

Dr. Williams’ fills the position previously held by James Smith, a doctor of osteopathy from Kirksville, Mo.
