DOQ-IT Overview

Welcome to the Doctor's Office Quality Information Technology program (DOQ-IT)! These tools will assist you in the complex process of preparing for change, selecting a vendor and making the most of your IT investment.
DOQ-IT WebEx SeriesPrimaris offers this series of presentations from EHR experts across Missouri and the U.S. Located conveniently online, you can watch them at your leisure without ever leaving the office. |
The DOQ-IT program segments EHR adoption steps into six phases. This website contains resources for the first three (assessment, planning and selection); a second section will include information on the final three phases (implementation, evaluation and improvement).
Increase your chances for success
Utilizing an EHR will not necessarily follow sequential completion of each phase, but addressing each of them will
increase your chances for success and ensure a more rapid return on your IT investment. Primaris staff will guide you
through each phase, but success will ultimately be determined by the commitment of you and your staff. Studies show the
most successful offices:
- Form a multidisciplinary team that regularly meets
- Require that team members accept responsibility for varied tasks
- Keep additional staff informed, and encourage their suggestions
- Identify a physician champion for the project
In a solo office, the entire staff may participate in the project. A mandate for success still requires scheduled time dedicated to project tasks.
